Founder and Managing Director, Chris Houston, has unrivalled experience within the group and has been the driving force for its continued growth and development.

Famous, or at least notorious, for having high standards, Chris is passionate about delivering a top quality product with outstanding service to everyone who visits a Coffee Culture store. He loves getting onto the tools when he gets the chance. Chris is excited to have opened the very first North Island store in the metropolis that is Hamilton. Outside of work, Chris’s kids keep him busy and he manages to slot in the odd game of golf and tennis.

Sacha Coburn

Sacha is the driving force behind the culture of Coffee Culture. As our C.O.O  she oversees the integrity of everything we do to make sure that our guests experience some good old fashioned magic every time they visit. She also handles all our in-house legal work, runs the franchise team and takes the lead on delivering our strategic plans.

If you have any questions at all about anything to do with Coffee Culture, Sacha is a great place to start. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, dance and is actively involved in her local community by supporting families in crisis.

Mike King

Mike has spent a heap of time in the coffee industry and has experience in every facet of coffee store ownership (including juggling a couple of stores at the same time!)

Murray Walsh

Murray's love of coffee knows no bounds. After years in store serving our famous espresso to guests, Murray has taken it a step further and taken on the challenge of roasting our blend to perfection.

Between that and lending his wealth of knowledge to the teams at The Palms and Rangiora stores, Murray still finds time to keep up with all the news and clock a few km's on his bike.

Susan Roberts

Susan has been Head Office Manager since 2004 and is an integral part of the team. She whips everyone into shape and oversees all the administrative aspects of the company's operations, including handling the accounts for all stores. Susan has three great boys, one of whom is her husband Jase, and in her free time she enjoys supporting her sporting family.

Clynton Drumm

Clynton has been around the traps for a long time and Coffee Culture regulars know him from the good old days. A successful store manager and fabulous role model Clynton has well and truly walked the talk.

Clynton brings his considerable design talents to work everyday and plays a key role in all our promotions and marketing. He has two gorgeous girls and a boy at home, and another gorgeous girl overseas, to keep him on his toes.

Emma Fodie

Emma brings years of expertise in running a successful Coffee Culture store to the team and her 'can-do' attitude shines through in everything she does. No challenge seems to be too big for this girl, including looking after two hefty huskies at home, so it's no suprise she's always been a real 'leader of the pack' (pun intended).

Amanda Robinson

Amanda is the Fab Foodie at Coffee Culture and spends her days tirelessly tinkering and tweaking our menu to make sure your food is as fab as your coffee. She's also the driving force behind the legendary Coffee Culture events we put on for our crew, and to top it off she still finds time to pop on the joggers and "indulge" in her other passion as a group fitness instructor. Michelle Cox

Michelle is our admin whiz who’s been a mainstay of the team for 6 years. She counts the beans, answers the phone and is in her happy place when the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed. Outside of work, Michelle is passionate about netball. She regularly travels to watch the Silver Ferns and regularly runs herself ragged on court in Lincoln. A new granddaughter is a special blessing and we all love photo time here at the office!

Kendra Inwood

Kendra is another of the 'grown in the group' people here at Coffee Culture. After making the move to Christchurch from her native Nelson in 2015, Kendra started as a part-timer and worked her way up to be part of the leadership team at the Bush Inn and Riccarton stores. She is now a full fledged member of our admin team. Outside the office, Kendra is a keen photographer and avid Crusaders supporter.

Sam Miller

Sam is a coffee genius having travelled the world in search of the best green beans, been a medallist at national cupping competitions and is also an award winning brewer of craft beer. Sam has heaps of experience roasting coffee in Christchurch and we feel pretty honoured to have his talents as a Master Roaster. Sam is also pretty good at spinning tunes so he’s up at this year’s staff party.

Hamish Borgfeldt

Best name ever right? Sounds serious and Hamish is super serious about his coffee. Recently arrived back from Melbourne Hamish is a skilled barista, and has both technical knowledge about the mysterious tools of coffee making and a highly developed palate. At our daily cupping sessions Hamish is the first to detect hints of this and notes of that in each of the coffees we roast. Hamish has a young family to keep him busy outside of work and he’s enjoying getting to know his old hometown once again.
